Black dogs or Church Grims
Were believed to be guardian spirits of church grounds and their graveyards.
Its said first person buried in a church yard was to guard it against the devil and those that seek to harm the grounds and its people. In order to prevent a human soul from having to fulfill this duty, a black dog was buried alive in its place to serve as a sacrificial guardian.
You are the black dogs church. Your mind body and spirit are sacred ground, worthy of fierce protection, as well as all those in your scope of influence. Make the neccesary sacrifices, assign yourself as both the church and the dog, both the holy place and the vigilant protector of everything that matters to you.
Black dogs church is a project i’ve started dedicated to offering guidance for improving mental health thru daily habits related to fitness and nutrtion as well as community around combat sports thats become family for so many. Proceeds from apparel sales, art prints, as well as a portion profits from workshops here (after guest/expenses) going to the american foundation for suicide prevention and other related non profits.

Exercise improves mental health by reducing anxiety, depression, and negative mood and by improving self-esteem and cognitive function. Exercise has also been found to alleviate symptoms such as low self-esteem and social withdrawal.
When you exercise, your body releases chemicals such as dopamine and endorphins in your brain that make you feel happy. Not only is your brain dumping out feel-good chemicals, but exercise also helps your brain get rid of chemicals that make you feel stressed and anxious.
When you stick to a diet of nutrient-rich foods, you're setting yourself up for fewer mood swings and an improved ability to focus. Studies have even found that clean diets consisting of mainly whole, unprocessed foods, can help with symptoms of depression and anxiety.
Studies have suggested that people who consume lots of fast food are more likely to have depression than those who eat mostly fresh produce. Processed foods, especially those high in sugar and refined carbs, may contribute to a higher risk of depression.
Its no secret that a well balanced diet, and regular exercise can have a profound impact on your mental health, decreasing the severity of symptoms related to depression and anxiety. When suffering from the symptoms of mental illness, taking care of ourselves can often take a back seat. leading to poor nutrition, lack of physical activity, social isolation and increased instances of substance abuse, thus exacerbating the symptoms- it can be a vicious cycle. Often times when in a negative mental state, the idea of changing patterns in activity/diet can appear daunting when just getting out of bed can seem like an insurmountable obstacle. If you would like help taking your first steps in understanding what your body and brain need for a better life, as well as guidance for food choices and what the hell do i do in the gym? please feel free to
